Drilling For Oil

I've got a quick and easy way to fix all our economic and international problems: drill for oil, on our soil, now!

I just don't understand it, we've got billions and billions of barrels of oil under U.S. soil. North Dakota recently found they have as much oil as Saudi Arabia. What's standing in our way? The left, sponsored by the 'green' brigade of progressive nutbags of course.

If we could get rid of the environmentalist standing in our way we could produce thousands if not millions of jobs for American citizens. But that's just the first positive benefit. Second, and maybe most importantly, we quit buying our oil from the Middle East, a place where they don't share the profits with their people, they buy more guns and bombs so they can fight us and scheme of ways to destroy us. So we are buying something that we don't have to because already have it, and then the people we are buying from are using the money to try to kill us and their own people.

Then there's the obvious decrease in gas prices it would cause. This is good for everyone and everything we want to buy. All of the sudden everyone will have more money to buy things and that will spike the economy into a boom.

What's not to love about this idea? We use about 20 million barrels of gas per day, and about 60-70% of that comes from other countries. Why not make that zero from other countries and let's all reap the benefits of it. And then we can start selling the oil and get out of debt.
