The BCS Title Game Should be on a Saturday
The last few years the BCS Title Game has been on a Monday night. I don't really care for it.
All year long we watch Saturday football. It's one of the great things about college football - the games are on a day when most of us don't work, and you can stay up until after midnight watching games because you don't have to work the next day, Sunday.
But the BCS Title Game has gone the way of the MLB or NBA Playoffs and is played on a weeknight, and starting at 8:30 EST. So if you are someone who goes to sleep around 10 PM because you've got to get up early to work the next day, you can only make it to halftime. I could stay up of course, if I can keep my eyes open after waking up early that morning, and then run on a short night the next day. But wouldn't be easier to just have the game on a Saturday.
Probably the main reason it isn't played on the weekend is the NFL Wildcard Playoffs which are played on the entire weekend before the title game. But if college and pro would work together a little bit, it could be done.
How about 3 playoff games on Sunday: 1:00, 4:30, and 8:00 - just like any other Sunday during the year, and then the final game on Monday, just like any other week of football in the NFL.
If this was done, you'd have the entire Saturday before to devote to the BCS Title Game. And the 8:30 start on Saturday night would be fine as the entire country could easily, and happily stay up to watch it.
Of course, the BCS is going away pretty soon. And if the 4-game playoff semifinal is played on New Year's Day then the title game is unlikely to take place where it is now, just 6 or 7 days afterwards. Well, if that's the case, it would just be the Divisional round of the NFL Playoffs where it would fall. And for uniformity, the NFL could just make the Wildcard the same and let college play the final few bowls on the Saturday of that weekend.

A Couple Simple Reasons to Vote for Romney
Over the last few months I've done work with several businesses, and they each say the same thing: "Obama's regulations are killing us".
They have new regulations hitting them all the time and it's forcing them to change the way they function. They need to increase their workforce to comply with new regulations to be able to get it done in the same about of time as it did before, but they can't because the demand isn't there to raise the cost of their product because the economy is so bad...so their workers are being stretched too thin. The regulations are killing them, and they've had good employees quit because it's gotten too stressful and difficult to keep up. Now they're in worse shape.
Small business runs this country. I work for a small business and I do 90% of my work for small businesses. We are being hit over the head with a baseball bat by Obama's policies. As an employer, it's hard to imagine anything more discouraging than Obama's attitude towards businesses.
Deregulation will allow for businesses to get back on track and not have to jump through hoops just to function. What's more, the amount of governmental overhead generated from these regulators is doing nothing more than throwing money down a rat hole.
Obama's main goal is to paint conservatives in a bad light, making people think we don't care for the poor. He points to business owners as wanting Republicans in office so they can get richer, but really they want Republicans in office so they can run their business without one hand tied behind their back.
Between the regulations, hefty taxes, increased insurance rates due to more OSHA and unnecessary restrictions, and the uncertainly Obamacare brings when it is fully implemented there is no room to expand a company.
Deregulation and tax cuts for small business will ignite the economy. Businesses will be able to operate more efficiently, and hire more people. There are jobs to be had out there, but Obama's barricades prevent businesses from growing and creating their own jobs. Instead, he'd rather create them through the government.
Private sector or government? Do we want the jobs in this country handed to us by the government, or should we do like we always have and thrive on capitalism and private business?
The choice is clear. Mitt Romney should be our next president.

What Happens When A Christian Dies?
By Bryant Wright
"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words." - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 NIV
There is confusion, and perhaps some concern, about the timing of when Christians receive their new bodies. Does it occur at the moment of death or is there a waiting period before they are issued? When a Christian dies, the physical body begins to decompose, but our spirit is immediately with the Lord in heaven. But when Christ is preparing for His return, there will be the rapture. While the word "rapture" itself doesn’t appear in Scripture, 1 Thessalonians 4:7 does talk about being “caught up together” (which is what the word "rapture" means). So, those who are alive when Christ comes will be joined in the clouds with those who have already died and are with the Lord. Those who have already died will, at that time, be given a resurrected body that is like Jesus’ body. Those who are Christian and alive here on earth will also receive a new body. It will be a body that will not get sick. It will not be contaminated by sin. It will be a new body like Jesus’ – a resurrected body that never dies. The bottom line: as best as I can tell, we receive our new bodies at the rapture, not the moment we die.
If you’re not a Christian, not sure if you die today your spirit will be in Heaven with the Lord, don’t wait any longer to be sure. You don’t want to miss out on Heaven and you don’t want to miss out on a new body that never gets sick and dies.

Late October, Still Undefeated?
The Atlanta Falcons are 6-0, the only undefeated team in the NFL - their best start in franchise history.
Mississippi State is 7-0, one of only 11 college football teams still unbeaten - the 2nd best start in program history.
Wow, I can't believe it's this late in the year and neither of my favorite football teams have a mark against them!

Falcons, Braves, MSU
My favorite football teams are a combined 8-0! Mississippi State is 4-0 and the Falcons are 4-0. Wow, my teams are never this good. And to top it off, the Braves will be going into the playoffs this week.
Hopefully the Braves can win on Friday in the Wild Card playoff game and make a run in the playoffs. They have lost in the Division Series the last five times they've made it to the playoffs and haven't been to the NLCS since 2001...and the World Series since 1999.
I really think MSU can continue the undefeated streak and go 7-0 before going to Tuscaloosa. Kentucky should be pretty easy, then Tennessee will be a big one. MTSU will probably be tougher than UK even though it's at home - but they are pretty good and it's a classic trap game.
The Falcons play at Washington and vs. Oakland the next two weeks before a bye. I don't see why both my teams can't be undefeated heading into the October 27th/28th weekend. And of course it would be nice to have the Braves in the World Series during that time as well.
